This is to inform the general public that an unfortunate fire incident occurred on parts of the second floor of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) Head Office in the Central Business District of Abuja, at a few minutes past 8pm on Saturday, 1st August, 2026. 

Combined teams from the Federal Fire Service and the FCT Fire Service quickly deployed to the building were able to contain the flames and bring the fire under control. 

Thankfully, no injuries were recorded. 

Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the fire. 

A detailed statement will be issued once we determine the extent of damage. 

We thank our stakeholders and the public for their concern and support. We particularly thank the Police and Fire Service for their quick response to the situation which helped to immediately put out the fire.
